Location - Edward Rudolf House, WC1X 0JL

The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 130 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We’re there for children, every step of the way.

This role sits in the marketing and communications team which is within our External Affairs directorate. Your role will be to support the Head of Digital in delivering our digital priorities for the organisation and taking responsibility for planning and delivering a range of digital projects and development work.

We’re looking for a passionate digital advocate to join our team, to play a key role in delivering our ambitious digital plans and take responsibility for planning and delivering a range of digital projects.

An excellent project manager or producer, with a proven track record, you’ll have significant responsibility and plenty of opportunity to input your ideas. In this pivotal role you will determine the direction of a range of digital products by aligning audience needs with business and technological requirements. We will look to you to take the lead for planning and developing high profile and quality digital products and services, and to work with internal and external stakeholders to agree, communicate and deliver them.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

  • an understanding of digital audiences, with skills and knowledge to create intuitive user experience and easy ways for them to get involved with our work
  • an evidence and results-driven approach, with an ability to analyse data to ensure projects are delivered to budget and targets achieved
  • assertiveness, creativity, collaborative working and self-motivation as key skills in your armoury to ensure our digital offering is of the highest quality, and to deliver the best results possible.
  • a strong methodology for managing projects effectively and for solving problems quickly as they arise eg Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2.

The Children’s Society runs over 100 local services that help thousands of young people who desperately need our support, and we campaign to get laws and policies changed to make children’s lives happier and safer.

Every day we’re changing the lives of children in this country for the better – and with your help, tomorrow we can be there for even more.

The Children’s Society is committed to Safer Recruitment and as such a range of pre-employment checks will be conducted in line with recommendations made by the Bichard Enquiry, and current best practice.

The closing date for applications is 23:59 on 24th of February 2019.
Interviews will be held on the w/c 4th March 2019.

At The Children’s Society we will be assessing your application against our behavioural framework, see attached document. The framework is split into 3 levels: senior manager, manager and individual and you will be assessed against the level that is relevant to the role you are applying for. The framework is our organisation’s basis for how we expect everybody to work together, how we treat each other and how we carry out our work. In your application and interview you will need to consider the behaviours and give us relevant examples where you have demonstrated these from your previous experience.
